Pearson Mathematics Workbooks

These publications are to be used as part of a regular homework programme.  They are designed as 'write-on' books , with plenty of space left for students to answer the questions.  Each topic starts with a worked example, which explains the work and shows how to set out the answers.

Each book is over 180 pages long, including removable answers as a lift-out section.

The problems are carefully linked with easy-to-follow numbering to chapters in Alpha Mathematics, Beta Mathematics,Gamma Mathematics, Gamma Fundamentals, Theta Mathematics and Sigma Mathematics to reinforce understanding of what is covered in class.

A variety of independent investigations and puzzles are included in each book.

The workbooks feature 70-80 self-contained assignments - these can be removed if required.  Each task is linked to the corresponding section of the textbook - to reinforce learning from the classroom.   A companion Student CD is provided - this features worked examples relating to every section of the textbook.  At junior level these are linked to the New Zealand Mathematics Curriculum, and at senior level to the NCEA Mathematics Achievement Standards.  The CD includes all the spreadsheets featured in both the main textbook and the workbook,  links to many applets and interesting websites on the internet.  The Sigma and Theta Mathematics Workbooks feature useful formulae pages (in pdf form for easy printout), and Normal distribution tables (in pdf form for easy printout).

The Alpha and Beta Mathematics CDs contain LiveMathTM computer algebra activities.
